ROYAL EASTBOURNE MARCH 3rd 2010 A rare fine but very cold, blustery day with the Course in excellent condition. 3 temporary greens and a number of temporary tees which must be expected after the recent weather. Hospitality at the Course was as good as any we have visited and several people have expressed a wish to return. A fine performance from Jean-Pierre Martens with 37 points who will now play off of 17. In second place, Malcolm Best will now play off 16. Congratulations to Dave Wilkinson for his longest drive and his (scuffed) nearest the pin.
WEST HOVE MARCH 17th 2010 A very pleasant course to play with some lovely views across the South Coast. Always in good condition and fairly open with a few exceptions. The 18th hole is a long downhill par 5 which will excite the big hitters. This is our 6th visit to West Hove. Amongst previous winners are Simon Read, with 38 pts from a handicap of 17, Martin Eke, 34 off of 17, Jeff Brain, 35 off of 20 and Phill Brown with 35 off of 23.
LATEST NEWS It has been decided to re introduce betting to our next event at West Hove with ALL proceeds, as usual, going into the Societies coffers. Whilst the Bank Account has a healthy look to it, any extras will always help. At our 250th event in 2009 we were able to provide shirts free of charge to members as a result of these extras. Please try to get involved with this aspect of the Society, every £ helps and you could pay for your day if lucky.
CROWBOROUGH BEACON MARCH 31st We are expecting a bumper turnout for our first ever event at Crowborough Beacon which can certainly be described as a very testing Golf Course. Our 'resident' member will certainly be a very short price to perform well here and with the added benefit of a 9th hole 'treat' will be in demand as a partner on the day. It would be most helpful if you could provide me with an indication of attendance here as soon as possible. You are reminded that like all Heffle functions the dress code is important and a credit to us .
